Echo Frame ("we," "our," or "the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our application.
Our Promise: We collect only what's necessary to make Echo Frame work. Your photos are never stored on our servers, and your music library data stays on your device. Your saved Echoes sync privately through your own iCloud account — your data stays in the Apple ecosystem, and you own it entirely.
1. Information We Collect
Photos You Analyze
When you use Echo Frame to analyze a photo:
- The photo is temporarily sent to Google's Gemini AI service for analysis
- The photo is processed in real-time to generate song suggestions
- The photo is not stored on any server after analysis
- The photo is not used to train AI models
Apple Music Library
If you connect Apple Music:
- We access your library to understand your music preferences
- This data is processed entirely on your device
- Your library data is never sent to external servers
- We use this to personalize song recommendations in Library Mode
Saved Echoes
Your saved Echoes (photo + song pairings) are stored on your device and sync across your devices via your private iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit framework. This data is encrypted in transit and at rest, stays within the Apple ecosystem, and is not accessible to us or any third party.
iCloud Sync
Echo Frame uses Apple's CloudKit to sync your Echoes across iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV:
- Sync uses your private iCloud database — only you can access it
- Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple
- No echo data passes through our servers
- Sync can be triggered manually in Settings, or happens automatically via silent push notifications
- Your music library and Sonic DNA profile remain on-device and are not synced

3. Third-Party Services
Echo Frame integrates with the following services:
Google Gemini AI
- Used for photo analysis and song matching
- Photos are sent via secure HTTPS connection
- Subject to Google's Privacy Policy
- Images are processed but not retained for training
Apple Music / MusicKit
Apple iCloud / CloudKit
- Used to sync your saved Echoes across iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV
- Data stored in your private iCloud database (not shared or accessible to us)
- Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy
Apple App Store
- Handles all payment processing for subscriptions
- We do not collect or store payment information
4. Data Security
We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information:
- All network communications use HTTPS encryption
- Photo data is transmitted securely and not persisted
- Local data is protected by iOS and tvOS device security
- iCloud data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple
- We do not store sensitive personal information on our servers
5. Data Retention
- Photos: Not retained after analysis (real-time processing only)
- Music Library Data: Stored on-device until you delete the app
- Saved Echoes: Stored on-device and in your private iCloud until you delete them or the app. Deleting echoes removes them from all synced devices.
- Preferences: Stored until you reset the app
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: View all data stored within the app
- Delete: Remove all your data using "Delete All My Data" in Settings
- Revoke Permissions: Disable photo or music access in iOS Settings
- Opt Out: Use the app without connecting Apple Music
7. Children's Privacy
Echo Frame is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.
8. International Users
If you are accessing Echo Frame from outside Sweden, please be aware that your photo data may be processed in countries where Google operates its AI services. By using the App, you consent to this transfer.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
